POSITION FILLED Soft Services Manager, Central London - c£60k + (Senior Management)

The role:

  • To ensure strategic and business objectives as well as the values and behaviours of our business are embedded into practice, communicated to, and understood, by the operations team
  • Direct reports include – Operations Managers, Functional Leaders, Subject Matter Experts
  • Responsibility for ensuring organisational effectiveness by providing leadership to our operational functions; working with the senior management team and contributing to the development and implementation of organisational strategies, policies and practices
  • This role is highly customer facing – you are the ‘link’ between the directorate, the service delivery team and the client, responsible for effective relationship management at all levels

How you will do this:

  • Take ownership, responsibility and accountability for embedding positive standards and behaviours across the business in line with our strategy and policy
  • Demonstrate effective decision making with consistency whilst reconciling the competing needs for resources effectively and efficiently
  • P&L responsibility for contracts, setting and adhering to budgets
  • Responsibility for quality standards and quality of services delivered on contracts in line with SLAs
  • Ensure KPIs are managed and achieved, and service standards are met
  • Provision of regular reports on SLAs and KPIs, and attendance at planned and ad hoc meetings with client representatives to ensure service delivery satisfaction
  • Development of the line managers along with accountability for the training and development of operational staff in conjunction with HR and training colleagues
  • Continuous Improvement through the identification of commercial and/or service delivery innovations
  • Project management and mobilisation of contracts
  • Driving and promoting processes and high standards to the team
  • Take ownership and ensure we deliver our services compliant to standards (legal, ethical and best practice) for Health & Safety and Operational processes including RAMS, Audit, COSHH, PPE etc


The candidate:

  • This is a pivotal, business shaping role and the successful applicant will be comfortable implementing company strategies and confident in challenging policies where improvement opportunities exist. 
  • Communication skills are vital as are personal presentation and the ability to work closely with clients
  • Calm and level head under pressure; ability to act as both mentor and critic of operational activities under your portfolio
  • Must have previous experience in managing (amongst other FM soft services) cleaning contracts/contractors
  • Demonstrate an understanding of a diverse workforce
  • Results driven team leader/management experience



c£60k (negotiable dependent upon experience) + travel card, mobile, laptop etc
