Graduate Engineers – Management Programme - Manufacturing

This is a permanent role, offering a starting salary £30k (reviews after 6, 12 and 18 months)

+ £3k bonus payable on completion of the Management Training Programme

 

Global organisation is now recruiting Graduates for our Manufacturing Management Programme and seeking engineers with a 2:1, 1st and/or Masters in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aeronautical, Metallurgy, Material Science, Continuous Improvement – or similar subject matter).  Work experience within manufacturing (either during a placement or internship) will be beneficial.  Employment starting in September/October 2017 – you will be based in Swansea.

This is a rotational (single site) graduate management scheme, a permanent role with an 18 month training plan during which time you will learn and be mentored through a thorough and robust training programme, after which you will work in manufacturing operations, at management level.  You will develop by working in all areas of the business, including time spent in operations, engineering, quality, planning, logistics and R&D at our Swansea site, and you will have immediate interface and exposure to the senior leadership team.  You will have access to an outstanding support network with the ultimate aim of becoming one of our ‘home grown’ Shift Managers within 18 months.

 

About the role:

  • You will have responsibility for managing team leaders and operators accountable for daily production targets, safety, quality and costs within your area of responsibility
  • You will be able to identify and implement improvements in production methods, product quality and labour efficiencies
  • You will play an active role in leading continuous improvement activities, reducing waste and overheads
  • Accountable for all aspects of Health and Safety
  • Utilisation of LEAN manufacturing tools and principles
  • Staff management (recruitment, training and mentoring)
  •  Regular reporting through presentations and briefings to the senior management team

 

About You:

We are looking for engineering graduates who have what it takes to grow into a management role, and beyond. Typically, you will have:-

  • Achieved a good (2:1 or better) degree at BSc/BEng or at Master's level
  • Be committed to a role in operations within ‘world class’ manufacturing
  • Evidence of extracurricular success in leading and engaging people
  • Experienced employment (likely to be a summer placements/a year in industry) preferably within the manufacturing/engineering environment
  • You will have outstanding communications (verbal and written), leadership potential, ability to influence, work within and direct a team
  • You will have outside interests and an entrepreneurial mindset

 

About The Benefits:

Basic annual salary of £30k, significantly rising within set bandings after 6, 12 and 18 months satisfactory performance and a £3k bonus after completion of the 18 month programme.  25 days leave (+ Bank & statutory holidays), pension and more……..
